01A hackathon in my feed
Kunal (he founded WeMakeDevs, and we're connected on LinkedIn) posted about a hackathon. I signed up.
The challenge was a fun one: use Bright Data's API and Scraper Studio to build a scraper that heals itself. When the website changes underneath it, it shouldn't break. It should adapt.
02Pick the most restless page you know
A self-healing scraper only proves something if the page keeps changing. Point it at a page that never moves and you've tested nothing.
At the time I was a little obsessed with YC. And the YC job listings page changes all the time.
so the obsession picked the target.03What came out of it
I scraped 200+ YC job listings, then built something that tells you the moment a new one shows up.
If you've ever refreshed a jobs page hoping something new had appeared, that's the whole point.
04You decide when it launches
It's not public yet.
Instead of guessing whether people want it, I'd rather you just tell me. If enough people tap the button, it goes public. And it won't stop at YC: Antler and a16z get their own sections too.
